The 2 pictures above are stationary panels on a beautiful 2" rod with finials and larger grommets.
Hardware is very important, this is over a arch window and in the main room and the first thing you see. The 3rd picture is a rod pocket over a rod you don't see and there you can save but getting a smaller less expensive rod and finials. The door has a sheer on it but my camera just was not capturing how pretty it looked.

Don't forget the patio!!!!  In the summer months adding a few pillows and side panels of outdoor fabric brightens up your patio.  It is like having another room to use in your house.  Sunbrella is your very best choice.  I attended a seminar on outdoor fabric and how they explained the difference between sunbrella outdoor fabric and inexpensive outdoor fabric was sunbrella was like a carrot.  It is the same color on the inside as it is on the outside.  Pigments are added during the production of the fabric that gives color throughout that won't wash or fade away.  Sunbrella fabrics stay strong and vibrant even from the sun and resist fading.  Ordinary outdoor fabrics are like a radish, it looks great on the outside because the yarn is dyed only to the outside surface of the fabric therefore it will wash out and fade over time. Yes sunbrella is more expensive but it also will last longer.  I hate the saying you get what you pay for but in this case it is true.

On my Blog list you will find companies that I work with.  You will be able to go online and search for fabrics and I will send you a sample of that fabric.  It helps to show me what you are after for your home.
Some good choices for drapes and valances are silk, cotton, faux silk, linens, sheers, polyester
and a mixture of the above.

I have gone to the Window Convention twice and Love it.  You meet new people and find fabric dealers and attend  the workshops.  This window fashion magazine called Vision last month had taken some pictures of people at the workshops.  I was complaining that I am never in the pictures and this month I opened up the magazine and there I am.  Yeah I am famous!
These ladies come and set up workshops to teach you how to do sewing shortcuts.  They really are amazing.  I can't wait to go back and learn more.

This is a valance called Pull-up.  It is on Rosettes and self lined.  The fabric is from Mitchell fabric.
This is one of my favorites.  The top of the drape is a Rouche look with ties.  This fabric is from RM Coco.
I can only claim 3 of these pillows.  They are the shams behind the white pillows and match the drapes.
I really love this look so much I am ready to Rouche everything.  There is a special foot to attach to your sewing machine to gather for you but it would not work on mine.  So I had to hand gather and it was not always going good but the end results are beautiful.  This customer Loves Lavender and Purples I think  she picked a great color to decorate her room with.
