Measuring Guidelines:

How to measure for blinds and shades.
      
 Outside Mount:
     The shade or blind should overlap the window opening 1- 2" on each side.  This helps to keep the light out.  If doing a room darkening I would go the 2".  When you measure the height also add 1-2" and then add for the brackets to put the treatment up.

A Inside Mount:
  1)  First check the depth of the window to make sure the brackets you order will fit in that depth.
  2) You should measure the window in 3 places for the width.  The top, middle, bottom.  The top is where the headrail fits so that is the most important measurement.  The middle and bottom if they are smaller than the top use the smallest measurement in ordering.  You want to make sure your shade can go up and down the sides without rubbing
  3) Measure the height on the left,right and middle and take the longest measurement for horizontal
treatments and the shortest measurement for vertical treatments.

My Main Man

The man that makes all my work look good, Mark my husband.  He installs everything for me and we have made a good team.  I am pretty bossy and expect perfection but he delivers.  I could not do my job without him and he truly is the best.

Box pleat valance

Just enough fabric leftover from the dining room valance to make a box pleat to go over the cellular shade on the door.

Arch Window

A rod pocket valance built on a board instead of using a rod.  Good way to save money.  This adds just enough to warm up the window but not take away from the arch look.

Bathroom Cornice

Master bathroom Cornice.  My daughter had me make this and she loves it.
