Hanging your window treatment?

Now that you have purchased or made your window treatments how should you hang them.  The window in the room is usually there for the view or light and I try not to cover up the window.  I  generally keep the drapes off the glass.  If there is wall space above the window and doing a outside mount use that space for the bulk of the treatment if doing a valance.I generally place the rod close to the ceiling and let the length cover the window trim.  Doing this gives the window the apperance of being larger than what it is and you have not blocked the view or the lighting.I then put the brackets 4"-6" away from the window on both sides.  I always take in consideration how everything looks before we install and  what the customer thinks.

Grommet Panels

Why choose a grommet panel?  Grommet panels are very nice for a stationary window treatments
due to the folds always look so nice and alot of fabric can fold into a small space.  For a traversing panel grommets due best on a steel rod and not a wood rod.  I have been adding beads on the backside to help them traverse evenly.
